Features
Seamless, High-Contrast Visuals Deepen Engagement
-
Evolved Dynamic Contrast (NEW): In addition to a higher 25,000:11 contrast ratio, Evolved Dynamic Contrast gains new scene analysis circuitry that more accurately recognizes light and dark areas of the image. The difference between black, white, and contrasting colors stands out more dramatically than ever before. It minimizes dimming when projecting contrast-rich content and makes blacks deeper and whites brighter. Each video frame is analyzed in real-time, and light output is continuously adjusted to meet the precise contrast requirements of each scene.
- Rich Color Enhancer for Vivid, Accurate Colors: Rich Color Enhancer is an original technology that lets you optimize the reproduction of different kinds of content by selecting the appropriate operating mode. Dynamic Mode offers an ideal balance of high brightness and vibrant color for clear image visibility in bright environments. Standard Mode expands red-channel output for deeper and more accurate expression of the color red, which is vital when displaying artwork and other color-rich content in museums, exhibition halls, and themed or location-based entertainment attractions.
- Gradation Smoother to Reduce Color Banding: Gradation Smoother reduces banding in gradients of shaded color, which can become evident in images lacking enough color bit-depth. Use the projector remote to select three levels of image correction depending on how much banding is present, or disable the function when it's unnecessary. Gradation Smoother is a lifesaver when banding is apparent and there's no time to re-edit the content. (Projectors ship with Gradation Smoother set to the factory default of [2].)
-
Detail Clarity Processor 4 Improves Image Clarity and Sharpness: Detail Clarity Processor 4 analyzes video signal frequency bands for each scene, extracting distribution information of ultra-high, high, mid, and low-frequency components. Panasonic's unique image quality correction circuitry then applies optimal processing enhancement to each area of the screen. Building on the capabilities of Detail Clarity Processor 3 available on previous Panasonic 1-Chip DLP™ projectors, Detail Clarity Processor 4 significantly improves the sense of clarity, making fine details seem crisp, sharp, and lifelike.
- Adjust Black Levels on Curved Screens (NEW): Achieving uniform black levels inside blended areas on curved screens has always been difficult. This is because the curvature of the screen distorts the width of the black borders that define the area of adjustment. Panasonic answers the problem with flexible black-level adjustment to suit arbitrary screen shapes. You can use up to 17 control points to reshape black borders so they fit the screen symmetrically without distortion. Black levels can be set precisely within a half-pixel margin, so blends are indiscernible even when viewing the screen at close range.
- Adjust Black Levels Inside and Outside the Image Display Area (NEW): Panasonic's black-level adjustment can eliminate distracting black-level bumps that can sometimes appear in blends outside of the image display area after geometric adjustment is applied. By unlinking black-level adjustment from geometric adjustment, black-level settings can be applied to the entire blend, including the image overlaps outside the image display area, for a completely seamless multi-screen image.
- Supports Widescreen Input Signals (NEW): Single-chip DLP™ projectors are a popular way to unite on-site and remote teams in hybrid conferencing spaces. The latest video-conferencing software layouts can output a 21:9 signal to a REZ12 Series projector so that the faces of remote participants appear along the bottom of the screen at eye level with those seated in the room. This promotes natural and fluent communication between members of the group. In addition, with more games, films, documentaries, and other immersive content being produced with a 21:9 aspect ratio, it makes sense to invest in a projector that can deliver a cinematic experience.
Flexibility and Expandability for a Timesaving Workflow
- Works with an All-New Lens Lineup: The REZ12 Series works with an all-new lineup of optional fixed, zoom, and ultra-short-throw zoom lenses for selected Panasonic 1-Chip DLP™ projectors, making it possible to deliver immersive experiences in spaces of any size. The lenses improve native contrast performance by as much as 16%2 and have a wider range of powered lens-shift adjustment compared to previous lenses. They feature Lens Memory and Auto Lens Identification functions and now offer powered periphery focus adjustment3 operable via remote control or the Smart Projector Control4 app.
(See Accessories tab.)
-
Wide Scalability with Intel® SDM-ready Slot (NEW): Intel® SDM-ready slot integrates optional proprietary or third-party5 function boards. These reduce installation complexity and make it easier to adapt, scale, and expand your projector's connectivity to suit different applications and event-site infrastructure. The projector works with Panasonic's DIGITAL LINK Terminal Board (TY-SB01DL), 12G-SDI Terminal Board (TY-SB01QS), 12G-SDI Optical Function Board (TY-SB01FB), and Wireless Presentation System PressIT Receiver Board (TY-SB01WP), as well as selected third-party5 PC boards, terminal boards, and AVoIP boards.
-
Import and Save Your Custom Test Patterns (NEW): In addition to 10 built-in test patterns, you can now import and save up to three user test patterns to the projector. You can save your preferred test patterns or use your client's content to calibrate the projector before connecting the video source. Access compatible BMP or PNG image files saved to USB memory via the Test Pattern menu, where they can be saved, renamed, or deleted using the projector remote control.
-
Smart Projector Control App Smooths Your Workflow: Smart Projector Control6 app simplifies projector setup and operation. Connection is easy: just scan the QR Code7 displayed in the projector’s OSD menu with your smartphone camera. You can control up to 64 projectors simultaneously and adjust settings without needing to project the OSD menu. You can select test patterns, adjust lens settings via the new lens-control UI, lock brightness, and perform focus adjustment using your smartphone camera8 from distances of up to 98 ft (30 m)9 away.
-
Save Prep Time Before Setup with NFC Function: NFC function10 allows you to prepare your projector for installation and setup at the event site when AC power is unavailable or when OSD projection isn't possible. To connect, just place your phone on the NFC decal and then use the Smart Projector Control11 app to read and write settings such as Projector ID and IP address. Projectors can be prepped for immediate network connection and setup when power rolls out on the installation site, saving time and resources. After the event has concluded, projector settings can be reset to factory defaults while unplugged, an action that used to require OSD menu projection.
-
Flexible Screen Adjustment via Remote Control: Free Grid lets you easily fix image distortion caused by uneven projection surfaces or objects on flat or curved screens using the projector remote control. Reshape the image by adjusting control points or V/H lines on an overlaid grid. Select from various grid resolutions between 2 x 2 and 17 x 17 lines depending on the precision you require. Work progress is saved automatically, and grid and control-point colors can be changed for best visibility over the background image.
-
Pre-activated Upgrade Kits for Geo Pro Software: The REZ12 Series ships with pre-activated licenses for upgrade kits that come bundled with our free Geometry Manager Pro12 software. ET-UK20 Geometry Manager Pro Software Upgrade Kit expands the software's extensive adjustment functionalities and adds sophisticated edge-blending, color uniformity, and masking tools. ET-CUK10 Auto Screen Adjustment Upgrade Kit uses data from a connected camera13 to automatically calibrate edge-blended areas by adjusting their brightness, color, and black level, saving you the time and hassle of manual calibration.
-
Quickly Find the Correct Projection Angle (NEW): Laser projectors can be installed at any angle through 360° to map images over floors, walls, and 3D objects. However, adjusting the projection angle to match the one specified in the design simulation can be tricky, especially if the projector is difficult to reach. The REZ12 Series features a gyro sensor that detects changes to the projector's body pitch and roll angles and displays the information graphically in the OSD settings menu. Installers no longer need assistance to check the projection angle as the body is adjusted. They can view the on-screen graphic and adjust the projector angle as necessary before securing the unit.
New Compact Body Supports Maintenance-free Projection
- Dust-Resistant Optical Engine and Liquid Cooling System (NEW): The REZ12 Series features an optical engine and laser light source module compliant with the IP5X Dust Protected (IEC 60529)14 standard, eliminating the need for an air filter and enabling 20,000 hours15 of maintenance-free projection. Reliability is proven by accelerated dust-chamber testing in significantly dustier conditions than those in which some competitive products are tested. A refined liquid-cooling system enables continuous operation in dusty environments with significantly lower noise levels than the previous series, ideal for quiet spaces such as museums. In addition, the stylish new cabinet design blends unobtrusively into the space to minimize distractions.
-
Remote Preview LITE for Monitoring During Events: Remote Preview LITE lets the projectionist confirm connectivity and assess image adjustment changes prior to video projection by viewing thumbnails of the input signal on a laptop. This is useful at events such as live concerts where opportunities to check content on screen are limited due to sound checks, sunlight on the screen, and other logistical factors. Accessed via software or web browser, Remote Preview LITE works with the projector in Standby16 or with the shutter on and reduces the chance of errors before the performance. (Requires Multi-Monitoring & Control Software Version 3.3 or later.)
-
Backup Input Redundancy: Two identical signals can be simultaneously transmitted to HDMI 1 (Primary) and HDMI 2 (Backup). If transmission to the primary input is interrupted, the projector switches to the backup automatically in a minimum of 0.3 seconds17 without screen-blanking. This layer of insurance gives greater peace of mind during events where image display can't be interrupted.
-
Highly Reliable Multi-Laser Drive Engine: Multiple laser modules are equipped with unique Failover Circuitry technology. If a single laser diode fails, Failover Circuitry continues supplying electricity to the module's functional diodes, minimizing brightness loss. If the same issue were to occur in projectors without Failover Circuitry, all diodes in the module might shut down, resulting in a significant loss of brightness.
